Resources

Never give up on finding the things that make you feel safe

During trauma healing, connection to the voices and stories of people who have been there can be an invaluable safety resource. I encourage you to consider exploring books, videos, podcasts, music, and other works of art as potential safety resources for yourself.

I have listed some of mine below. They are the teachers, mentors and healers whose words held me during some of my lowest moments. Their works armed me with comfort, contemplation, validation, knowledge, empowerment, mobilization, and shared humanity. I am forever changed by their shared vulnerability. â€‹

I don’t take book recommendations lightly and have therefore intentionally limited this list to resources that I have found personally impactful. With that being said, this list is meant for your consideration rather than a specific "must-read" recommendation. Take what speaks to your heart and leave what doesn't. Your list does not need to look like mine.

Part of safety resourcing is developing our own lists centered around our own needs, a process that is highly individualized and deeply personal. I wish this for you. â€‹And I hope you may find solace in this space.

And to the individuals listed below: Thank you for sharing pieces of yourself with me and the rest of the world. I found anchoring through your stories, and your strength gave me access to my own. Thank you forever.

With deepest gratitude and love,

Tina leigh â€‹
